Certification – Systems & PPE

About our national Certification & Recertification Team

Fall protection and abseil safety systems (including PPE) in New Zealand require recertification in accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4:2009 standards, manufactures requirements and best practice guidelines.

Alta Safety has recertification technicians located in Timaru, Christchurch, Wellington, New Plymouth, Turangi, Hamilton and Auckland that are able to recertify fall protection/abseil safety systems.

Accreditation
3M Fall Protection installed Anchors and Proprietary systems require annual recertification In accordance with AS/NZS standards.
Only 3M Fall Protection trained and accredited persons can issue certification on 3M/Capital Safety installed products; otherwise the certification is deemed invalid and in turn invalidates the warranty.

Service Agreement
Alta Safety will carry out a full comprehensive inspection of fall protection and abseil safety systems and carry out any maintenance and servicing prior to re-certification as appropriate to meet all requirements by the manufacturer, AS/NZS standards and best practice guidelines.
Individual inspection certificates will be issued on completion of the annual re-certification or alternatively a detailed report will be issued to advise of the corrective actions required to meet AS/NZS standards.

Alta Safety uses CORE Inspection Rectification programme to ensure the ongoing scheduling and tractability for the fall protection/abseil safety systems they recertify.

Clients have the ability to log into CORE Inspection to trace their own assets.

In accordance with AS/NZS 1891.4.2009, most height safety systems will require ongoing certification over their lifetime - usually at 12 monthly intervals.
